Sterling Memorial Library
For nearly a decade, Existing Conditions has been working on this classic academic Gothic structure, collaborating closely with local architects. Our journey commenced with a comprehensive exterior scan, which served as the foundation for a full exterior model. However, what truly captured the attention and enthusiasm of both Yale University's Facilities Department and our partner architects was the profound utility of laser scanning, and the resulting Building Information Models. This revelation marked the inception of an enduring, decade-long endeavor, during which we've consistently introduced new components to the building, seamlessly integrating them into the existing structure.
