135 Alden Street is a planned redevelopment project of the former Flint Mills textile factory into a luxury mixed-use complex, set to comprise over 200 residential units and a self-storage facility. An enormous building totaling more than 400,000 square feet, the property is the final and largest of the area’s major redevelopments and is considered the crown jewel of Fall River’s historic mills. Residential units will maintain elements of the mill’s historic character, including its high ceilings, exposed beams, and beautiful stone work. Working closely with The Goldman Group, we deployed both terrestrial 3D laser scanners and aerial drones for a comprehensive as-built survey of both the interior and exterior of the building. Existing Conditions delivered a 3D BIM model and 2D CAD drawings to this client, providing them with accurate data to design the space to their specific needs.

The collaboration with Existing Conditions commenced at Barnard College, where our initial task involved the 3D laser scanning of 147,000 square feet within Altschul Hall. To accomplish this, we deployed two 3D laser scanning teams, each responsible for capturing point cloud data from the corridors on their respective floors and interior spaces. In parallel, a third team concentrated on 3D laser scanning the building's exterior. Our planning process was meticulous, as we strategically assigned specific rooms and floors to each team, guaranteeing comprehensive existing conditions documentation across the entirety of the structure. This well-coordinated approach was instrumental in ensuring the acquisition of precise and accurate 3D data for the project to create a custom 3D Revit model and 2D CAD drawings.

The historic Worcester Memorial Auditorium and DBVW Architects selected Existing Conditions based on our experience and portfolio to complete a full 3D laser scan of the property. Located in Lincoln Square, this building was built in 1933 to commemorate the sacrifices of Worcester citizens during war times. To prepare for future renovations, Existing Conditions 3D laser scanned the interior and exterior of the building, which had been vacant for over 20 years. Existing Conditions utilized the Faro laser scanner for this project and documented over 100,000 square feet of space.
