FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

{Boston, MA, February, 28, 2023} – Existing Conditions is proud to present its first “Innovation Challenge” offering up to $5,000 in prizes, including cash stipends, internship and career opportunities, and a "real-world" site visit to a high-profile site with the Existing Conditions team.

This competition is free to enter and is open to students studying architecture, design, planning, and related disciplines. Participants will create a design proposal for a mixed-use development site provided to them by Existing Conditions. Students will create a three to five-minute video submission of the design proposal for a mixed-use development project. Entrants will have access to 3D point clouds, CAD files, and Revit files. In addition, all participants will electronically submit a three-page PDF of the design proposal. The submission will be based on the local community's needs, as determined by the research conducted by the participant. The “Innovation Challenge” jury will be composed of various highly respected architects and engineers, including Kevin Deabler (RODE Architects), Michael Samra (studio TROIKA), Graham Clegg (STUDIOS Architecture), and members of the Existing Conditions team.

Students in architecture, design, planning and related fields should take advantage of this unique opportunity to highlight their research abilities and design skills. Registration is open until Friday, September 1, 2023, at 9:00 am EST. The submission period begins on May 10, 2023, at 9:00 am EST and closes on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 5:00 pm EST. On Wednesday, September 27, the challenge winner and runner-up will be announced during a remote awards ceremony from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm EST.
